Domestic abuse can happen to anyone at any time. It is a systematic pattern of coercive
behavior for the sole purpose of manipulating a partner in an intimate relationship.
Domestic abuse can take many forms: verbal, emotional, financial, sexual, physical
or psychological.
SHALVA has helped over 4,000 Jewish women since 1986 and is specifically certified
by the State of Illinois to provide domestic violence counseling.
